Overview of The history of thompsons holidays
Anton Thompson established Thompsons Tours in 1978, providing packaged tours for both groups and individuals to many destinations around the world and became the largest wholesaler in South Africa. Thompsons Tours also acquired and opened its own Corporate & Leisure retail agencies, selling direct to the public, known as Thompsons Corporate Travel and Thompsons Leisure Travel respectively.
Thompsons now has offices in Mauritius, Victoria Falls and other neighbouring countries providing transfers, tours and ground support to both the domestic market and inbound visitors.
In 2008, on Thompson's 30th birthday, a refreshed image and name was launched, namely Thompsons Holidays, in line with the global trend away from packaged tours to specially designed holiday specials for individual travellers.
Thompsons Holidays continues the tradition of providing fine holidays at superb locations around the world, at excellent prices - all with a smile.
